Green Apple Music and Arts Festival, San Francisco
Dave Vann
2007-06-01

Editor's Note: We’re looking forward to each installment from another new monthly contributor, David Vann, who has long offered images to the site. This month we start things off with a taste of Green Apple San Francisco…

The Green Apple Music and Arts Fest made its way to San Francisco April 20-22 and was a huge success.

San Francisco favorites Tea Leaf Green sold out the Fillmore on 4/20 - how appropriate. Special guests Eric McFadden, Dan Lebowitz and a dancing bong made in on stage to add to the celebration.

The cerebral funk of The New Mastersounds also added to the weekend's festivities playing late night at SF's 12 Galaxies until after 4AM on 4/21.

The free outdoor show on Sunday 4/22 at Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows was a great ending to the Earth Day celebration. Much of the weekend was rainy, but the weather broke on Sunday in time for Jonah Smith, Martin Sexton, The Greyboy Allstars, Stephen Marley (with Jr. Gong), and Bob Weir and Ratdog (with Sammy Hagar on "Loose Lucy") to entertain the 40,000 + fans who showed up to enjoy the show.
