April

So what’s new this month?

Let me answer the two questions that have been most prevalent

(1) No, my secret agent name isn’t Dan- what can I tell you :)

(2) It is indeed official, the Jammys won’t take place this June. We’re close to announcing a fall date and some pretty exciting related news as well. So join our email list and stay tuned…

As for site news, we have a pretty cool interactive feature in the works. We’re going to give our readers an opportunity to submit questions to Trey Anastasio. His album comes out April 30 with a tour to follow, so pick up the disc and start cogitating...The full details will be on the site in few days.

What else is up? Well Jazz Fest is on our minds. We’ll have plenty of folks checking in, including our news director, Jeff Waful. So look for reports and images from NOLA. In addition, we have a feature interview with one of the event’s co-founders, Quint Davis.

As for artists performing at Jazz Fest, we have plenty of articles in our feature section. For instance, Mark Pantsari joins our ranks with his Page McConnell interview, as Page embarks on his first extended tour with Vida Blue. As for other stuff, I suppose this is bass player month for myself, as I interview both Chris Wood and Tye North. In addition, we have Mick Skidmore's lengthy conversation with Kevn Kinney, an interview with Mike Babyak, a longtime collaborator of Steve Kimock, an Eric Krasno feature, and of course the quintessential “plenty more”…

Enjoy yourselves in NOLA (or wherever you’ll be this month…)

Later days and peace,
Dean
