As you might expect this month I'm leading off (yet again) with the Jammys. Frankly, how could I not? If you were there I'm sure you can understand my enthusiasm. On top of the musical highlights (and there were many) one thing that will always stick with me was the audience reaction to that final jam- both the spontaneous fist-pumping during that segue into Gloria (and, btw, who led the musical charge there?) along with the sight of everyone out there at 2:30 in the morning, twisting their bodies into improbable angles around trying to decide which of the two stages should command their attention. If you were there or even if you weren't I promise you will have an opportunity to check it out- please stay tuned for a TV announcement in the days to come...

Our monthly content is Jammys-themed as well. Three of our feature interviews are with artists who performed at the event: Warren Haynes, Mike Gordon and Al Schnier. In addition we're printing Bill Stites' essay in appreciation of the band which he read just prior to Bob Weir's acceptance of the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the Grateful Dead. Of there's other interesting stuff too including along with our regular Columns, Departments and CD Reviews.

Looking ahead, since the Other Ones tour will open up next month I think you cnn expect some additional interviews, articles and reviews as well, so stay tuned. Maybe I'll see you at one of those shows or out there somewhere..

later days and peace,
Dean
