Annabel and Evan and Rob, Oh My
Dean Budnick
2007-04-23

This month I’m proud to announce the addition of three new columnists: Annabel Lukins, Evan Winiker and Rob Johnson. I would imagine that steady Jambands.com readers are familiar with all three, but let’s review, shall we?

When we last left Annabel, she was disembarking the Jam Cruise boat…no wait, she was behind the scenes at Langerado…no, no she was on stage at Green Apple San Francisco. Indeed, as I mention in the intro to her debut column, “Annabel deftly walks the line, in maintaining the enthusiasm of a fan even as she lives the life of a music industry ‘professional.’ Her skills in striking this balance earned her the 2002 Grahamy Jammy Industry Award for Support of the Scene. Annabel truly rocks, and we’re psyched to add her perspective to the site.”

Next up is Mr. Evan Winiker. You may know him from such bands as…Steel Train (which is currently in California recording a follow-up to Twilight Tales from the Prairies of the Sun. Evan also has served as a Bonnaroo Beacon correspondent and Relix raconteur. In addition to his passion for music, he’s a huge basketball fan and also a movie maven. It is the in the latter role that we have nabbed him, as each month Evan will share his insight with a review of a current film. First up is Grindhouse

Our final add, is not really an add at all in the sense that he has been writing for us almost from the get go. Rob Johnson has long offered his thought on the Allman Brothers Band as well as the extended Zambi family of musicians. As of now, he will do so each month via his Hittin' The Note column, which we offer with special thanks to HTN editor John Lynskey.

More on the way…

Later days and peace
Dean
