Deadhook Revisited

2006-06-22

Nearly two years ago we profiled Deadhook. Since then the site has been revised a bit, so we decided to take a second look. Here's what Deadhook's administrator has to say about the developments...

Deadhook.com, an online Grateful Dead and Jamband community, recently underwent a complete renovation, adding new features and functions as well as a new look to the already popular home on the internet for Deadheads and Jamband fans alike. In addition to our recent upgrades, we're adding a Bit Torrent site for direct downloading as well as a streaming audio feature, both of which should be online by the end of the year.

Established in 2003 in the spirit of the Grateful Dead, Deadhook is an interactive forum-based site which utilizes multiple message boards to create an online community for music fans, with tons of discussion, trading, a virtual Shakedown Street, Dead history, setlists, birthdays, tour dates and more. Created to spread the music of the Dead, Deadhook has become a great place for our members and Deadheads to talk, trade tunes and meet new people, and we have members from around the country and overseas.

For members interested more in trading and collecting shows, Deadhook has hundreds of B&P's, Trees, Vines, and trade offers, equating to thousands of hours of music being exchanged, and has become an outstanding resource for those looking to start or grow their lists. With a complete Trading & Downloading FAQ section covering terminology, links to torrent and download sites, troubleshooting and applications as well as step-by-step guides for beginners, Deadhook serves as a comprehensive resource for our members with the least experience to the most avid traders. Although still young, Deadhook already boasts over 5.8 million hits and nearly 300,000 posts, and we continue to grow each day, adding new members, music and discussion.

Deadhook is not likely the most active community on the internet, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in the kindness and generosity you would only get from a Deadhead!
