I caught a bad version of bronchitis and left early. Still, I'd recommend the festival highly, but I'd also recommend a dust mask to any Southeastern festival due to our 100-year drought. I think the weather fritzed out my card, which wiped 3/4 of my pictures from Saturday. Regardless, The Echo Project was a gem, and the promoter said it would be back. Here's hoping, and here's a chronicle of Friday and Saturday:

The lights through the dust - like post-apocalypse, but with dancing hippies!
Ta Da! Wayne Coyne's bubble is always the high point of any day.

Drummer Kliph Scurlock on "Pompeii AM Gotterdammerung"
"The W.A.N.D. (Will Always Negates Defeat)" Coyne lights smoke bombs inside a bullhorn and then sings through them.
"Do You Realize??" finale.
Nothing really green about the finale, so everyone stayed to clean up and stay focused on the environmental impact of the festival.
The Secret Machines
Brazilian Girls - lead singer Sabina Sciubba came out in a rabbit mask and a "Straight Outta Flashdance" outfit
Thievery Corporation had a rotating lineup of dancers and singers. I had no idea what they did or how until seeing them, and was blown away. I'd highly recommend The Richest Man in Babylon, their 2002 album.

Cat Power opened up her Dirty Delta Blues Band with Sinatra's "New York, New York" and if that isn't versatility...
Perpetual Groove always invests in their lighting and they let the photographers stay for as long as they please. Nonetheless, this was my only surviving photo.
My only surviving Killers photo - they did a great show. I'm so ashamed of being a new fan it's not even funny.

MSTRKRFT closed Saturday with the rave of the century. I will not admit to being onstage slugging tequila out of a gallon jug. I will note the full bottle of Jack Daniels next to the keyboard. MSTRKRFT and various others onstage killed 3 bottles in 2 hours. Welcome to the South.
