Since a number of people have mentioned this to me, including my parents (who knew they checked out Jambands.com?), I feel I would be remiss in not mentioning Randy Ray’s column this month.

I’ve already sent him and email of deeply-felt thanks for his kind words but let me echo that sentiment here.

Beyond that though, Randy mentions something that I believe is applicable across the board. He writes, “Sometimes in life, one stumbles into the right place at the right time, and one is somehow ready for something new, different, fun, and better.”

To me that’s what it was all about when we started Jambands.com back in the summer of 1998 at a time when no one was covering the bands we all enjoyed with any substance.

We’re still at it today, in part because of people like Randy, some of whom preceded him, some of whom proceeded him, all of whom are at their best when they share the spirit and vitality that he brings to the site.

It’s been five years for Randy (I’ll confess it feels like more…in the best way possible), maybe it’ll be five years (or more) for you. If you’re hankering to chip in please send me an email- [email protected].

Beyond that thanks again to everyone who keeps this site active and in motion…

later days and peace,
Dean
