In 2000 Percy Hill deservedly won the Jammy for Best Studio Album for
Color In Bloom. Since that time the band has stayed off the road for a
little rest and recuperation. But as the new year has taken shape so has
the New Hampshire quartet's concert presence. A handful of solo shows
and a handful of dates with old neighbors and friends (albeit in a new
incarnation) Strangefolk, have the band picking up right where they left
off. Intricately woven songs, laced with tight jams and a pound of
fusion are the order of the day. Songwriter and drummer Aaron Katz took
advantage of the downtime in '00 to work on a solo album, and recent sets
have featured a sampling of his work, including The Millionth Man and
Aubade. Keyboard assassin Nate Wilson has also offered up a groovy new
tune, a fine follow up to his 2000 debut of Shining On Creation.
One of Percy Hill's first shows of the year was at the Webster Theater in
Hartford, CT and sponsored in part by the Jam Nation radio show hosted by
our own News Guru Jeff Waful and Editor in Chief Dr. Dean Budnick. The
show was packed from start to finish and gave the assembled crowd a big
dose of that New Hampshire porno funk that keeps 'em coming back time and
again.

look, it's Dean Budnick!
