KYLE HOLLINGSWORTH- THE STRING CHEESE INCIDENT

Any big plans in the works for 2014?

Yes – releasing an EP, a number of big shows and working on the next Lotus LP

What will you remember most about 2013?

Some crazy floods here in Boulder, but musically I had a very busy year. I produced my first band (Euforquestra), worked on a new SCI record and recorded a new solo disc.

What album or albums have you listened to this most this past year?

Ernest Ranglin – Below The Bassline, Iron & Wine – Ghost On Ghost, and the new live Ben folds disc – Ben Folds Five Live.

What was your favorite show or tour in 2013?

I saw lots of great music this year: Empire of the Sun, Femi Kuti, Brokedown in Bakersfield, Pimps of Joytime
too many to mention. The scene is really expanding!

What emerging band should readers watch out for in 2014?

Nicki Bluhm, Elephant Revival.

Any big plans in the works for 2014?

The new SCI disc will probably drop in April. My solo disc will probably hit in late August. Also keep an eye out for a new beer collaboration with Stone Brewing Company and me due out in March.

SCOTT METZGER – WOLF!, BUSTLE IN YOUR HEDGEROW, JOE RUSSO’S ALMOST DEAD

What will you remember most about 2013?

2013 was a great year for me. A year that saw a lot of personal goals reached, and a year of new beginnings. One thing that really stands out, though, is touring with Trixie Whitley. She’s an incredibly talented, authentic artist and musician-if you don’t know her music, do yourself a favor and check her out. You won’t be disappointed! We toured Europe for two months solid playing to sold out, gorgeous theaters all over the continent. We also went to my favorite place on earth, Japan and did a week of shows there. A real highlight.

What album or albums have you listened to this most this past year?

Slim Harpo – The Excello Years. The best!!

What was your favorite show or tour in 2013?

I was lucky enough to have some real stand out gigs this year. A few that stick out are…

The Montreux Jazz Festival with Trixie Whitley
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead at The Capitol Theater/Brooklyn Bowl
Kid Rock’s ‘Chillin The Most’ cruise with Shooter Jennings
Central Park Summer Stages with Anders Osborne
The Complete Last Waltz at The Capitol Theater
Top of The Sears Tower ‘Skydeck Allstars’ Jam

What emerging band should readers watch out for in 2014?

WOLF!

Any big plans in the works for 2014?

My trio, WOLF! is finishing it’s first full length record as we speak. I’m really excited to get it finished and out to the world.
