OLIVER WOOD (WOOD BROTHERS)

What will you remember most about 2015?

The making and releasing our record Paradise. Since we produced it ourselves it was probably the hardest we’ve ever worked on a project. It was stressful and took all of our energy but in the end we felt proud and triumphant for pulling it off.

Which album or albums have you listened to most this past year?

Lots of Allen Toussaint (even before he passed), The Roots with Elvis Costello ( Wise Up Ghost), and JB Lenoir’s Passionate Blues.

What was your favorite show of 2015?

I’d say the Fillmore in San Francisco or the Vic in Chicago…those were some of our first big sold out shows and were very exciting!

What emerging artists should we watch out for in 2016?

Rondo Rigs, Mandolin Orange

Any big plans in the works for 2016?

Conquer Europe (in a musical sense), spread World Peace.

MIKE WILBUR (MOON HOOCH)

Way too many things happened to remember all of them, but I’ll never forget Moon Hooch headlining a show at the world’s biggest cathedral, St. John The Divine in NYC, this past Fall.

Which album or albums have you listened to most this past year?

I listened to MF Doom Madvillainy, Earl Sweatshirt, I Don’t like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside, and Meshuggah Catch Thirtythree a lot.

What was your favorite show of 2015?

My favorite show of 2015 was at The Garage in London.

What emerging artists should we watch out for in 2016?

Alena Spanger, Nick Jozwiak, Ryan Miller, Tiny Hazard, Big Friendly, Public Robot, John Lipscomb, Brandon Lopez, Dan Nadeau

Any big plans in the works for 2016?

I plan on becoming a better wordsmith and freestyler in 2016 along with growing as a loving human being.
