The Tao of Wu

We'll here we are here in the new Millennium, unless you are like me, and go by the calendars in most small town Chinese restaurants. Aw...that Y2K thing was a big hype explosion! We all knew if didn't we? We all figured anything that has its survival based on our monthly bill payments would find a way to make sure they got their money Jan 1, 2000. Big Cypress sounded like a grand adventure. I remember waking up New Years Day and checking the setlist on "Boxscores" and being blown away. Wow. My wish for the new year is that everyone would stop talking so much and start listening more!!! Make a promise to yourself to get out and see more great music! Its all about celebration of life and being together in full boogie.

The Big Wu spent its New Years at the Quest club in downtown Minneapolis. We shared the stage with our fellow Minneapolis bands Bobby Llama and Big Tasty. Bobby Llama ( http://www.bobbyllama.com) has a PHAT horn section. They all are from St. Olaf College where we all went to school a while back. We spent a week prior to NYE rehearsing some party toons for the New Years show. It was fun. The setlist is on our website if you are curious...the Michael Jackson stuff was fun. Graciously the Quest sold out, around 2000 in 2000. The show seemed more like 1500 of our closest friends getting together and drinking champagne and toasting in the New Year. Less like a rock concert. Couldn't have asked for a more incredible evening. The Quest Club was really kind in that I think they knew this was a once and a lifetime party so if you were 18 or over, anything pretty much went down. Again, I feel like this community of people that we've grown up with, knows how to handle its good times. Much thanks for keeping the energy positive to all the folks who spent the evening with us.
