It's upsetting that you haven't put anything of interest on the site
concerning God Street Wine's final shows. I have toured with them in the
past, and I was at three final shows...I hope you guys force me to
bite my tongue by printing something substantial about them and their
unique style of music.
Dean's answer
First off let me say that like yourself I attended my share of God
Street shows. If you look at the cover of the Jam Bands book you'll see a
ticket stub from a GSW anniversary gig at Pearl Street in 94. In terms of
those final three nights at Wetlands, We did send
our new photo editor Janene Otten who snapped some shots
for an essay that is due to appear in our eye candy section. Still, you're
right, I wish we
had done a feature on the group in December. Let's face it, we
mooked. I know that Jeff Waful in the news department would say that he
did a fine job of covering those final shows by supplying breaking news on
guest performers and so forth (and he's right). Still, this one slipped by
me. As a result, my request to all of you out there is to please float me
an email to remind me about bands and topics we NEED to cover (sometimes,
we'll already be on it, but in any instance we appreciate the tip).
Or better yet, please feel free to pitch us an idea or send along a
contribution of your own...
