memorable New Year's Eve! We at the Home Grown Music Network are psyched to
start the new year bringing more innovative music to you than ever. A whole
new round of phenomenal bands will be joining the Network in the coming
months, so keep an eye on
www.HomeGrownMusic.net and find out about these
new bands first! On that note, we would like to welcome the last new Home
Grown member of the millennium into the network. OM is a San
Francisco-based trio that welcomes diversity in every aspect. Composed of
keyboards, bass, and drums, this band can do it all, from filthy late-night
sweat-drenched dance jams to restrained and composed jazz. This quality has
helped them earn a solid reputation on the west coast, as they play piano
jazz for more upscale venues, and still lay down that groove for the
nightclub scene. This diversity has fused both styles into one irresistable
sound. Check out their page in our store for CDs, tour dates, and more!
New additions to the Kind Music Catalog:
Moon Boot Lover - "Back on Earth" CD - The most appropriately titled album
of the decade! After a near five-year absence, maniacal frontman Peter
Prince is back with a new rhythm section and a searing new disc full of the
oddball funk that he made famous! This band was one of the originators of
the groove/funk rock sound. The songs chosen for the album capture the high
octane rocket soul energy of the trio as well as their ability to creep into
a tranquil ballad. Check out this trio's millennial offering! $12.00
Jamie Janover and Michael Masley - "All Strings Considered" CD - Two
hammered dulcimer innovators combine forces! Jamie Janover, veteran of
hundreds of guest appearances with the likes of Phish, String Cheese
Incident, and The Slip, possesses an uncanny musical intuition and the same
goes for Michael Masley. Both are renowned for their original approach to
their ancient instruments, and on this new CD, they take the instrument and
the music itself to new peaks through fearless experimentation and seasoned
ability. "I've never seen anything like it - amazing! A very great
musician!" - Trey Anastasio, guitarist, Phish $14.00
Dexter Grove - Live Without a Crowd Volume 1 and 2 CDs - This "Acid-Folk"
outfits treats you to a nice chunk of live recordings! Volume 1 was
recorded November 14, 1999 at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins, CO, and
features moe. members Al Schnier and Jim Loughlin. Volume two is pure
Dexter Grove, captured live July 23, 2000 at Canyon Recreation Hall in
Yellowstone Park, WY. $12.00 each
Might As Well....The Persuasions Sing the Grateful Dead CD - Exceedingly
soulful! The most enduring a cappella group in America has produced an
album of classic Dead tunes. Accentuated here and there by piano, mandolin,
and other complementary instruments, the music on this disc is as timeless
and American as it gets. It's just amazing! A must for fans of a cappella
music and hardcore Deadheads! $17.00
Allgood - "Ride the Bee" CD - Groove rock originators! This disc, released
in 1994, was extremely influential to a lot of fans and musicians! Their
southern-battered rock and intense touring made them a favorite among
jam-oriented music fans in the mid-1990's. $14.00
