Asphalt Haze
the road is inspiration's playground
and a dangerous gig for the fool
seductive
mysterious
the road is a beautiful woman
each curve an opportunity
every line a challenge
on the road
another sunrise
shines new light
for the oldest journey
yet the road is a reluctant muse
tantalizing
with destination's allure
to overshadow the path itself
the road laughs at deadlines
twisting, turning
rolling endlessly in an asphalt haze
a homeless place beyond time
the road is not bound by agenda
save its own
the road is a foolish lover
letting all go too far
too fast
or worse
too slow
adventures on the road
always end
regardless how pure the traveler's heart
or joyous the view
