"Munchkin Invasion" Written by The Disco Biscuits & DJ Mauricio
From The Trocadero, Philadelphia, PA 4.29.00

DJ Mauricio explains the evolution of the song:

I faintly remember that the room was as smokey as my head is right now. This is how it happened. I walked in the door and they asked me if I programmed some new beats. I told them, "Yeah, although I have to warn you, they are a bit crazy and demented."

JON "BARBER" GUTWILLIG: "Can you take the apocalyptic beat and play a few measures, and then we can go back to the jungle beat. We could play the apocalyptic part then we could use that tribal trance beat."

MAURICIO (lost in thought): "Wait. I don't know which beat you are talking about. Do you mean the jungle beat that is actually kinda industrial sounding or do you mean the jungle beat that you sing "We come from the jungle" over?"

BARBER: "I'm not sure - but Aron can you stop using the organ during the jungle beat" (meaning the tribally, jungly reggae beat that is actually C59)

ARON MAGNER: "I don't understand why I can't use the organ - I like the way it sounds."

BARBER: "I don't know- your line sounds too "euler's formula."

SAM ALTMAN: "I have to agree about you sounding like "euler's formula."

ARON: "Ok, what if I play this line?"

BARBER: "Alright let me hear it."

Much later (maybe daze)...

ARON playing what would be the end of the song to beat C45.

BARBER: "How can we finish this, I feel like it needs some lyrics."

SAM: (quietly spacing out, smoking a cigarette, and singing to himself): "I'm a little soggy, I'm a little mushy"

BARBER:: (thinks for a moment) "THAT'S IT! 'Hi my name is Sally, I'm a little Munchkin!' Aron, can you harmonize with me?"
