Taj Mahal Trio, The Jim Kewskin Jug Band, Albert Lee, Steve Earle and the Duke & Dutchesses, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers, New Orleans Suspects and more will perform at the 16th Annual Rhythm and Roots Festival at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI over three days this Labor Day weekend. The Jim Kewskin Jug Band, which features Jim Kweskin, MariaMuldaur, Geoff Muldaur and Bill Keith, will be playing the only East Coast show of their 50th anniversary reunion tour. Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole will host the event.

The Rhythm and Roots Festival will feature plenty of Roots and “Gulf Coast” musical acts on five stages, as well as intimate workshops with artists, Cajun and Zydeco dance classes and various family activities.

Weekend passes to the event are now on sale for $150, but that price will go up to $165 tomorrow. Kids 12 and under will be able to attend for free and there will also be a senior discount at the gate.
