New York Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams will perform at the second annual Jammys, this Thursday June 28 at Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan. Williams, who plays guitar, will take the stage with Jazz Mandolin Project and cover Ornette Colemans Ramblin. Marky Ramone and Jerry Only (The Misfits) will collaborate with Lake Trout for interpretations of two Ramones songs. Other artists slated to perform include The Del McCoury Band featuring Robert Randolph and DJ Logic, Tom Tom Club featuring Michael Franti (Spearhead), Col. Bruce Hampton & Friends featuring the Steve Kimock Band & Derek Trucks, Soulive featuring Talib Kweli and Me’Shell Ndegeocello, The Disco Biscuits featuring John Popper, Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade featuring Junior Brown, and a special dual-stage tribute to the Meters featuring George Porter Jr. and special guests. The Derek Trucks Band will be the house band for the evening.
Paul Shaffer will present the award for Jam of the Year and is expected to join the musical festivities. Comedian Jim Breuer will host the event.
