Medeski, Martin & Wood has confirmed its New Years Eve plans. The trio will perform four shows in Italy, December 29 January 1, as part of the Umbria Jazz Festival in Orvieto. Special guests include David Friesen and Uwe Kropinski on December 29, John Scofield on December 30 and Marc Ribot on December 31.
In other news, bassist Chris Wood will take part in the Big Apple Unity Jam, scheduled for November 20 at B.B. Kings Blues Club in New York City. The line-up also includes Leo Nocentelli, Stanton Moore and Bernie Worrell.
