Several special guests sat in with Widespread Panic during the bands three-night stand this weekend at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. Friday night, Irvin Mayfield (Los Hombres Calientes) added trumpet to Arlene midway through the second set. Bill Summers (Los Hombres Calientes) and Dr.Arvin Scott then played percussion during an extended drum break. On Saturday night, Daniel Hutchens (Bloodkin) sang on Makes Sense to Me, which closed the first set. Col. Bruce Hampton emerged and played guitar and sang on Time is Free. Scott then returned to add percussion to another drum segment. Last night, Hampton and Karl Denson joined the group for Low Spark on High Heeled Boys and Use Me during the second set.
