The initial line-up for the Bonnaroo music festival has been confirmed. The 3-day camping event will take place June 21-23 on a 500-acre farm in Manchester, TN. Artists performing include Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio, String Cheese Incident, moe., Ben Harper, Soulive, Galactic, Govt Mule, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Karl Densons Tiny Universe, Jack Johnson, Les Claypools Frog Brigade, North Mississippi Allstars, Keller Williams Incident, Triple Threat DJs, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, and the Blind Boys of Alabama. The festival is being produced by New Orleans-based Superfly Presents and Knoxvilles A.C. Entertainment. Additional acts will be announced.
Dr. John popularized the word bonnaroo, a Creole term with positive connotations, with the release of his 1974 album, Desitively Bonnaroo.
