Terrapin Station – A Grateful Dead Family Reunion will go on as scheduled on August 3 and 4 at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI. On June 11, the Walworth County Highway Committee voted to deny a license for the event due to speculation that hundreds of thousands of fans without tickets would show up. However, the Executive Committee voted 5 0 Friday to allow the concerts to take place after Clear Channel Entertainment and the Walworth County Sheriffs Department reached an agreement. Clear Channel will post a $100,000 bond to cover any property damage and will also pay overtime costs for law enforcement officers working the event. The surviving members of The Grateful Dead – Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir – are expected to release a statement soon.
