Guitarist Jon Gutwillig sat in with The New Deal Saturday at Camp Bisco in Union Dale, PA. Gutwillig (The Disco Biscuits) joined the group for about 20 minutes worth of improvisation in the middle of the set. It was the first time ever that The New Deal has played with a guitarist on stage.
Camp Bisco also featured sets by The Disco Biscuits, Lake Trout, DJ Logic, Particle, The Ally, Alex Paterson, the New Deal, Dr. Didg, Umphrey’s McGee,
The Motet, Brother’s Past, RANA and Moonraker. Several late night DJ’s also performed.

‘I think a few years ago the kids weren’t ready to party till 5:30 am, but things have changed for sure,’ says The Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein. ‘Camp Bisco has matured into what we always knew it could be, a 48 hour party with very few breaks in the music, and the music was sick from start to finish.’
In April of 2000, The New Deals Jamie Shields performed as a member of The Maui Project, which was formed by Brownstein.
The New Deal plays next on September 5 at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, NY. For the complete fall itinerary, visit the bands official website.
