One lucky fan will have the opportunity to make a speech honoring The Grateful Dead during the 2002 Jammys presented by TDK, October 2 at New Yorks Roseland Ballroom. Bob Weir will accept the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the Dead and the contest winner will read his or her speech during the presentation. The speech should convey the significance of the band and its music. If interested, send your speech, not to exceed three minutes in speaking length, to [email protected] . The deadline is this Saturday, September 28 at noon PST. Also include a short bio of yourself in the email. A winner will be notified on Monday September 30 and will need to be in attendance two days later at Roseland Ballroom.

Full information on the Jammys is available at the official website.
