Keyboardist Page McConnell (Phish) took the stage with Cyro Baptista & Beat the Donkey last night at Higher Ground in Winooski, VT. Page emerged for a portion of the second set for some extended improvisation. Baptista recently toured as a member of Trey Anastasios band and has also performed with Sting and Herbie Hancock, among countless others. Fellow Anastasio band members Dave Grippo (saxophone) and Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet) also sat in last night.
Cyro Baptista & Beat the Donkey will perform with special guest John Zorn December 12 at Tonic in New York City. The groups official website is www.cyrobaptista.com.
