Phish has announced the debut of Live Phish Downloads, a new program that will allow fans to purchase complete, unedited soundboard recordings in MP3 and Shorten digital music files. The upcoming holiday shows at New Yorks Madison Square Garden (12/31) and Virginias Hampton Coliseum (1/2, 1/3, 1/4) will be available within forty-eight hours of the end of each concert. Each show will be supplemented with printable booklets, inlay trays and CD labels, for fans that wish to burn the files to CD. The band plans to release more shows for download – both new and old in the coming months. The Live Phish CD series will continue, with a new batch expected to be released in April of 2003.
Phish is currently offering a free download of the 10/7/00 Shoreline Amphitheatre concert, the groups final performance before going on hiatus.
