ulu keyboardist Scott Chasolen has announced the release of his solo album Solitude Speaks. The CD features drummer Sean Dixon (The Chesterfields), percussionist Sebastian Guerrero, vocalist/violinist Katy Pfaffl, guitarist Mark Tewarson (Topaz), bassist Justin Wallace (formerly of ulu). Saxophonist Aaron Gardner (ulu) and drummer David Hoffman (formely of ulu) also make guest appearances. It is a completely different sound than what people are used to hearing me play, says Chasolen. ‘I use a more direct language of introspective lyrics and heartfelt vocals to unite each song with the listener.’
Scott and his band will play a CD release party on Sunday, February 9 at the Bitter End in New York City. Later that week, ulu heads out on a national tour. The itinerary is available at www.ulu.net.
