The line-up for the Whole Earth Festival has been finalized. The event will be held May 9 11 on the campus of the University of California in Davis, CA. Performers include A.L.O., The Mind Club, Ten Ton Chicken, Joe Craven, Diane Patterson, Utah Phillips, StrungOver!, Felonious: OneLoveHipHop, Darryl Cherney & The Chernobles, Home at Last, David Jacobs-Strain, Clan Dyken, The David Thom Band, Addict Merchants, West Coast Rhythm Section, Hot Buttered Rum
String Band, Bat Makumba, Nostalgic Progression, Driving With Fergus,
Alma Melodiosa, She 3, The Sardonics, Mind X, Peter Joseph Burtt, Mad Cow
String Band, Sinsonics, Impromptu Noise, Soul Majestic, Doug Wood, Urban
Fire, Emily Kurn, Michelle Peixinho, Matthew Grasso & Michael Lewis,
Akimbo, Roberta Chevrette, Rachel Garlin, and Squish the Bad Man. Keynote speakers will include Robert Hass, Ram Dass, and Julia Butterfly Hill.
The festival originated in 1969 as an Art Happening and was renamed Whole Earth the following year with the declaration of Earth Day. Approximately 95% of the waste generated by the event is recycled and all of the stages are solar powered. The theme of this years festival is Inspire Change.
