Col. Bruce Hampton and Bernie Worrell took the stage with Widespread Panic during the second set of Saturdays show at UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Hampton added vocals and Worrell played keyboards during Spoonful, which segued into Red Hot Mama.’
Hampton and Widespread go way back, having first performed together in August of 1989. As a member of Aquarium Rescue Unit, the Colonel sat in with the group during the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. festival. On August 15, 1993 in Pelham, AL, the members of Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Blues Traveler, The Samples and A.R.U all jammed with Panic on a monster version of Werewolves of London.
