Allman Brothers Band Confirms Summer Tour; Karl Densons Tiny Universe to Open

The Allman Brothers Band has released its summer tour schedule. Following a performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 14, the tour kicks off June 26 at Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY. The itinerary runs through mid-September, including stops along the East Coast, the Midwest and eventually out west. Karl Densons Tiny Universe will open the majority of the dates, excluding festival appearances. This is a departure from the past few summers, which featured various support acts on different legs of the tour.

Hookahville Line-up Finalized; Benevento and Russo Added

The line-up for next months Hookahville Spring 2003 has been finalized. The latest edition is Organ and Drums, comprised of Marco Benevento (Jazz Farmers) and Joe Russo (Fat Mama). The festival, which will be headlined by ekoostik hookah, is scheduled for May 23 25 at Frontier Ranch Music Center in Kirkersville, OH. Other performers include Old & in the Gray (featuring David Grisman, Vassar Clements & Peter Rowan), The Neville Brothers, The Derek Trucks Band, Blue Oyster Cult, Robert Walters 20th Congress and the omnipresent Particle. Phish lighting director Chris Kuroda will also be on board for hookahs sets.
