The Dirty Dozen Brass Band has announced plans to release its first live album in more than ten years. The group kicks off an 11-night residency tonight at TwiRoPa Mills in New Orleans. Many special guests are expected to sit in, with recording slated for May 1 3. The shows are part of the Superfly During Jazzfest concert series, which also includes coinciding shows in TwiRoPas main room. Tickets are available through www.superflypresents.com.

The DDBB will also appear at the official New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival tomorrow.
