Govt Mule has added a couple dates to its summer itinerary. The band will celebrate July 4th with a performance at Simon Estes Amphitheater in Des Moines, IA. Although many speculated that the band would unveil a permanent bassist at The Deepest End concert earlier this month, an announcement has not yet been made. The group has confirmed that Greg Rzab will perform at the May 31 show at Pensacola Springfest in Pensacola, FL and George Porter Jr. will take the stage June 6 at the Relix Magazine 30th Anniversary celebration in New Yorks Central Park.
In other news, Warren Haynes will play a handful of solo acoustic gigs this summer. The itinerary includes June 15 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN, July 12 at the Gathering of the Vibes in Duanesburg, NY, August 15 at the Rocky Mountain Folk Fest in Lyons, CO, August 16 at Sunshine Daydream Festival in Terra Alta, WV and August 17 at the Berkshire Mountain Music Festival in Great Barrington, MA.
Haynes and Mike Gordon will appear at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA tomorrow night for a screening of Rising Low. They will be host a Q & A session, which will follow the movie. In addition, both Warren and Mike will be on Bostons WHDH-TV, Channel 7 tomorrow at approximately 4:30 p.m.
