Widespread Panic has announced that it will not be touring in 2004. In a statement posted on the official website, the band says it will be taking 2004 off for a much needed year or so of rest. The group will tour this fall, beginning September 24 in Bozeman, MT and concluding with a two-night stand at New Yorks Madison Square Garden on October 31 and November 1. The last show prior to the hiatus will be on New Years Eve, although a specific city or venue has not yet been confirmed.

Panic will play two nights at the Mid-Atlantic Music Festival this weekend at the State Fair Event Center in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Tickets are still available. Visit www.midxmusic.com for details.
