Phish To Borrow Adult Contemporary Radio Station For IT, Host 5K Road Race

Phish has announced that beginning on Friday August 1 at 6AM it will appropriate WQHR 96.1 to broadcast from the IT site for three and a half days. Although WQHR is normally a Hot Adult Contemporary station, from Friday morning through Monday August 5 at 2AM, it will be in the thrall of the Phish radio team which will air the band’s live sets and present Kevin Shapiro’s ‘From the Archive Show’ along with other programming. In addition, as another part of the IT festivities, the band will host the Runaway Jim Memorial 5K Road Race. The event will take place on Sunday morning at 11am. Pre-registration will appear next week at the IT web site (the band notes that ‘Drug testing will not take place before or after the race’). Tickets for IT are still available at the Phish ticketing site.

Phish opens a three show run at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, IN this evening.
