Galactic drummer Stanton Moore joined the Charlie Hunter Trio last night at Tonic in New York City. Moore, whos a band mate of Hunter in Garage A Trois, took the stage during the second set for Magnolia Triangle and Tchufunkta.
Meanwhile, Galactic is in New York preparing for its show Monday at Art Park Amphitheatre in Lewiston, NY. This concert is part of the B.B. King Music Festival tour, which includes King, Jeff Beck, Galactic and Mofro. The tour has featured much collaboration between Galactic and Mofros John ‘JJ’ Grey. Hes sat in regularly for Never Called You Crazy Saturday Night Special and Bittersweet. With no scheduled gigs this weekend, the members of Galactic are likely to pop up at a show or two in the New York area.
Hunters trio, which features John Ellis and Geoff Clapp, heads west for a Saturday performance at Truckee Regional Park in Truckee, CA. The full itinerary is available at www.charliehunter.com.
