Quite a few musicians graced the stage with the Allman Brothers Band this weekend in California. Last night at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, the group invited saxophonist Karl Denson (Tiny Universe), vocalist Chris Robinson (Black Crowes, New Earth Mud), drummer Matt Abts (Govt Mule, Blue Floyd) and guitarist Marc Ford (Black Crowes, Blue Floyd) to collaborate. Denson stepped in for Desdemona just before Robinson, Abts and Ford came out for a lengthy version of Rock Me Baby.

ABB guitarist Warren Haynes and Abts will tour with Robinson next month as Govt Mule and New Earth Mud hit the road for a series of shows together.
On Saturday, Denson and members of his Tiny Universe joined the Allmans at Street Scene 2003 in San Diego. Midway through the show, Karl added saxophone to The Same Thing. At the end of the set, trumpeter Chris Littlefield, guitarist Brian Jordan and drummer John Staten took the stage for Southbound.
KDTU will appear with the Brothers a few more times this month, including Tuesday, when both groups perform at the Santa Barbara Bowl in California. The complete itinerary is available at www.allmanbrothersband.com.
