Saxophonist Jeff Coffin and percussionist Futureman collaborated with the Dave Matthews Band Friday at AmSouth Amphitheatre in Antioch, TN. Coffin and Futureman, members of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones who are based out of nearby Nashville, took the stage for the set-closer, Two Step. DMB wrapped up its summer tour the following night in Atlanta.
Mattews new solo album, Some Devil will be released tomorrow. It features guitarists Trey Anastasio (Phish) and Tim Reynolds, bassist Tony Hall (Bob Dylan, The Neville Brothers, Willie Nelson) and drummer Brady Blade Jr. (Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Chris Whitley). Dave is expected to tour in support of the disc, although specifics have not yet been confirmed.
