Singer/songwriter Alvin Youngblood Hart took the stage with Govt Mule last night at Gibson Showcase Plaza in Memphis, TN. Hart joined in for the encore, It Hurts Me Too and 32-20 Blues. The show also featured regular guests Chris Robinson and Paul Stacey of New Earth Mud, which is on the road with Mule. Robinson and Stacey emerged for Shake Your Money Maker to close the first set. One interesting side note: Govt Mule keyboardist Danny Louis played trumpet on John The Revelator to begin the second set. Its not the first time Danny has strayed from the keys. During The Deepest End concert, May 3 at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans, Louis played guitar bassist Jason Newsted (formerly of Metallica) during Trying Not to Fall.

The Mule returns to the Saenger tonight. For the full schedule, visit www.mule.net.
