Trey Anastasio performed with Jennifer Hartswicks band Friday at the Lions Den in New York City. Anastasio, who was in town for a couple television appearances with Dave Matthews, took the stage at the beginning of the second set for two of his originals, Night Speaks to a Woman and Mr. Completely. Hartswicks band features many of the same musicians from Treys solo project: drummer Russ Lawton, keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, trombonist Andy Moroz and saxophonist Dave Grippo (although he wasn’t at Friday’s show).
Earlier in the night, Anastasio performed with Dave Matthews and Friends (including Emmylou Harris on all songs) at the Grand Ballroom at Hammerstein. The show, which took place in front of an invitation-only audience, was recorded for the CMT program, Crossroads. The episode will debut in January.
