Jeff Austin With the Big Wu ….. Big E In Studio Z ….. Al Howard With KDTU

Jeff Austin performed with The Big Wu On Tuesday night at Colorado’s Boulder Theater. Austin lent his mando to the five songs that closed out the band’s set: ‘Rhode Island Red,’ ‘Whiskey Rover,’ ‘No Place Like a Road,’ ‘Oxygen’ and ‘Black Rain in Colorado.’ Austin’s collaborative recording with Wu guitarist Chris Castino is set for release this spring…..
The Big E, comprised of Bobby Vega (KVHW, Zero) Alan Hertz (KVHW, Garaj Mahal), Ray White (KVHW, Frank Zappa) and Eric Levy (Garaj Mahal) will perform a late night set in San Francisco on December 27 at Studio Z. The group will be joined by Mark Karan (RatDog, Jemimah Puddleduck), Brian Jordan (KDTU) and the ubiquitous ‘More.’
From the ‘hey we just found out but this sounds interesting’ department Al Howard (Al Howard and the K23 Orchestra), performed a spoken word piece All Praise Due just before Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe took the stage this past Sunday at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC and later emerged during the KDTU set to perform in a similar mode during Got Your Groove On.
