Headcount, a new not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization is searching for volunteers to run voter registration tables. The organization, co-chaired by the Disco Biscuits Marc Brownstein and Andy Bernstein (of ‘Bernstein and Chasnoff’ fame) is soliciting volunteer applications and donations via its web site. Headcount will be a presence at many shows this summer including performances by The Dead, String Cheese Incident, Gov’t Mule, moe., The Disco Biscuits, Galactic and Les Claypool and Primus, as well as at festivals such as Bonnaroo and High Sierra. The Headcount Board of Directors includes Bob Weir, who recently observed, ‘If every Dead Head in the state of Florida had voted in the last presidential election, it would be a very different world today.’
