On April 29 and May 1 a number of musicians will come together to support the Pangaea Project, which works with young people from low-income families to address social and environmental issues. Joining the Everyone Orchestra for performances at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene (4/29) and the Aladdin Theater in Portland (5/1) will be Jon Fishman, Tony Furtado, Kai Eckhardt (Garaj Mahal) and Motet alum Jans Ingber. The Everyone Orchestra which is often conducted by Tye North, also contains a core of Matt Butler (drums), Scott Law (guitar), Asher Fulero (keyboards) and Damian Erskine (bass). Each evening will feature mini-sets that bring together some of the players, culminating with a collective jam featuring all of the performers guided by a conductor with the aid of giant placards that suggest key changes, highlight particular instruments and also solicit audience participation. In addition, Julia Butterfly Hill will speak at both performances which also will feature a series of raffles.
