Although the era of Boss Tweed and the political machines of the 19th century has long passed, a new opportunity has arisen to register voters and receive some manner of compensation (beyond the satisfaction of polity-support). Headcount is sponsoring a contest that will allow individuals who collect and submit completed voter registration forms to win VIP tickets to the Bonnaroo Music Festival. The individual who turns over the larger number of completed forms will win a pair of tickets and passes. In addition, anyone who registers five voters will be entered into a drawing for two VIP tix (and will receive another entry with each additional five registrations). Other prizes include signed discs by Headcount-affiliated artists and subscriptions to Relix. The complete details, state-by-state voter registration rules and forms can be found at the Headcount web site.
