Although the Disco Biscuits have been off the road for much of the summer the individual band members have been occupied with a variety of projects. The latest of these is Amoeba, a collaboration between Disco Biscuits guitarist Jon Gutwllig, Mike Greenfield and Ira Tuton (the latter two played drums and bass for the Ally). Amoeba will debut on August 19th at Philadelphia’s North Star Bar, followed by an appearance the next night at the Yasgur Road Reunion Festival in Bethel, NY.

The Biscuits curtailed their touring while bassist Marc Brownstein awaited the birth of his child. We are here to report that the wait is over as this past Saturday, his wife gave birth to a son, Zachary Hunter Brownstein. Zachary weighed in at 6 lbs. and 8 oz and parents and child are doing well (reports that ZHB wore his teeny-weeny newborn knit cap at a 45 degree angle remain unconfirmed)
