Widespread Panics John Bell, who has kept something of a low musical profile as of late, returned to the stage on Wednesday night in Athens. The occasion that rousted him out and onto the stage was the return of the Aquarium Rescue Unit. The members of Panic and ARU have maintained a close, longstanding relationship (the two groups full-band segues from the early 90s were often stunning on any number of level). Bell appeared for an extended stretch at the Georgia Theater show, adding both vocals and guitar into the mix.

Vince Herman Closing Out Spirit or Guthrie Tour, Picking It Up Post-Election With Moonshine Still

Leftover Salmons Vince Herman has been on the road for much of October with Jim Page and Rob Wasserman on the Spirit of Guthrie Tour. These shows have featured collaborative efforts and music and words created and inspired by Woodie Guthrie. The three will close out the Spirit of Guthrie Tour this weekend with performances in Fort Collins (Aggie Theatre, tonight) and Boulder (Trilogy, Saturday and Sunday). Herman is then off until November 3, the day following the election when he opens a tour with Moonshine Still. For these shows hell open the night with a solo acoustic set and then joining Moonshine Still for some of their performance.
