Jim Dickinson is currently in the studio producing the next John Hiatt album having completed work on the forthcoming North Mississippi Allstars release Electric Blue Watermelon. The name of the disc references a band assembled in 1967 by the late Memphis-based guitarist Lee Baker. Incidentally, Baker performed with numerous groups off and on over the years including the Sister Brothers which also featured Alex Chilton as well as the aforementioned father of the NMAS’s Cody and Luther Dickinson, Jim (for more entwined trivia, you will note that Jim Dickinson also produced the Replacements’ Please To Meet Me which includes the song Alex Chilton’ and features some guitar work from a young Luther on ‘Shooting Dirty Pool’).
