Acoustic Syndicate to Part Ways Following Smilefest
After performing regularly since the 1992, Acoustic Syndicate will part ways this May following a show at Smilefest. In a message posted online, the group said, After over a decade of traveling the country and making music together, we have decided to close this chapter of our lives giving way to the next. We have been blessed with the opportunity to play our music for so many wonderful people over the years, and we will miss you all. We disband with a sense of pride, achievement, and nothing but love for one another. Acoustic Syndicate has been an extraordinary experience for all of us in the band and it has been our great honor to play for you.
Steve, Bryon and Fitz McMurry had been performing music together for years throughout rural North Carolina before forming Acoustic Syndicate with bassist Jay Sanders in 1992. The group released its self-titled debut in 1996 and has toured the southeast steadily ever since. In addition, the quartet signed with Sugar Hill Records and appeared at last years Bonanroo Music Festival. The groups remaining tourdates include stops in Johnson City, TN, Charlotte, NC, Nashville, TN, Knoxville, TN, Raleigh, NC, Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, Aiken, SC and Horse Shoe, NC.
