Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey keyboardist Brian Haas spent his early years as a classic performer. Haas recorded with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and was preparing for the Van Cliburn Competition when something snapped (in a good way) and he opted to eschew rigid forms by embracing the freedom of jazz. Next week, folks can decide how he has engaged both of these worlds with with the release of his first solo disc The Truth About Hollywood. At present though hes in New Orleans, assailing lite jazz, for the final two spring shows with the Dead Kenny Gs.
