Jamie McLean has spent the past few years touring the world with the Dirty Dozen Brass Bands guitarist. But, now, the Connecticut-bred guitarist is stepping out on his own with the release of This Time Around. Recorded by Tony Scheer (Norah Jones, Jesse Harris), McLeans first solo album is a guest-laden affair featuring members of The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Soulive and the Charlie Hunter Quintet. In January, McLean road-tested his new, more personal songs with weekly residencies in Boston and New York, also finding time to cameo with the North Mississippi Allstars and the Benevneto/Russo Duo featuring Mike Gordon.
McLean will support his solo release on May 12 at Burlingtons Higher Ground and May 14 at New York Citys Tribeca Rock Club, before joining the Dirty Dozen Brass Band for its next round of performances.
