Widespread Panic is quickly emerging as the king of this summer’s festival circuit. In addition to appearances at the New Orleans Jazz Festival,
Bonnaroo, 10,000 Lakes, Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Music Festival, the group has now been confirmed as a headliner for the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival (9/1-5). Along with Willie Nelson, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and the Loggins & Messina Reunion, Panic will anchor the five day, high-altitude festival with two performances. A variety of late-night club and theater shows will also be added throughout the resort town in the coming weeks.

Panic’s first outing since 2003 continues to turn out surprises on a nightly basis. At Asheville, NC’s Civic Center Saturday evening, Randall Bramblett joined the group for a version of the Talking Heads’ ‘Life During
Wartime.’ Panic also revived two numbers shelved since its road break: ‘End of the Show’ and ‘Genesis.’
