Over the past few years groups such as Medeski Martin and Wood, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Slip and the Vorcza have made the trip out to Antigonish, Nova Scotia along with dozens of Canadian bands to participate in the Evolve Festival. This festival has gained a reputation for its mellow vibe as well as its broader mission to promote global, social and cultural awareness of Reiki Healing, globalization issues, alternative energy resources, organic and non-genetically modified foods. This year Evolve is back on August 26-28 and once again will allow for camping at what it describes as a rand-new never-before-used outdoor venue. Artist announcements are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
